Waterloo Gardens Revenue and Competitors

In 1942, James and Anna Paolini opened the first Waterloo Gardens in Devon, PA. Situated on two acres in the upscale Main Line area just outside of Philadelphia, the Paolini's grew the business over the next 30 years. In 1959, property in Exton, PA was purchased in order to grow nursery stock for the Devon store; it included a 44-acre cornfield and an adjoining six acres along Route 30. As the Exton area gentrified and became a more developed suburb, a garden center opened on the property in 1970. In 1972, the Paolinis retired and sold the business to their daughter, Linda LeBoutillier and her husband, Bo.
