What Is Washington State Housing Finance Commission?
The Washington State Housing Finance Commission offers financing by assisting 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to obtain below-market interest rates on loans for the purchase, construction, renovation, or refinancing of facilities, or the purchase of large-scale equipment. These projects include administrative offices, schools, housing, neighborhood and day care centers, as well as job training, cultural, athletic, and social service facilities. Since 1990, the Commission has issued bonds totaling $323 million for 90 nonprofit facility projects that include the Tacoma Art Museum, William Gazecki Animal Shelter, United Way of King County, Girl Scouts -Totem Council, Overlake school, and most YMCAs in the state.
