What Is Waratahs Rugby?
The NSW Waratahs are the representative rugby union team for the Australian state of New South Wales. Referred to by fans as the Tahs, the NSW Waratahs compete in the Super Rugby tournament which is contested between February and August, by 15 teams, five from each of the three SANZAR countries (South Africa, New Zealand and Australia). Run by Waratahs Rugby (a not-for-profit organisation), the NSW Waratahs are the state's only professional rugby team and each year contribute over $1,100,000 to support the development and growth of the grassroots game across NSW. As a high performance organisation, our vision is to deliver a success rugby team for NSW to be proud of and build a profitable and successful business to ensure the game's long-term future. The team is based at the IBM Centre at the Allianz Stadium in Moore Park, the home of NSW Rugby, and plays its home games at Allianz Stadium and ANZ Stadium in Sydney's west.
