What Is WNUR Sports?

WNUR Sports is the broadcast home for Northwestern Wildcats athletics. We can be found over the air at 89.3 FM in Evanston and Chicago, and on our website worldwide. WNUR Sports is the flagship radio station for Northwestern women’s basketball and baseball teams. We broadcast every football game, including all postseason bowl games. We also broadcast many men’s basketball games, including every game in Evanston. WNUR Sports is the only place you can hear the Northwestern Wildcats compete in volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, and women’s lacrosse. We’ve broadcast each of the Northwestern Wildcats women’s lacrosse team’s eight consecutive appearances in the national championship game, including seven National Championships. In addition to our radio presence, we provide loads of content for our listeners and readers both on our website and through social media. We regularly interview current players and coaches, record podcasts with famous alumni and have roundtable discussions about Northwestern Athletics. WNUR Sports has also produced a plethora of prominent media personalities over the years. Before Dave Eanet became Northwestern’s Lead Play-By-Play Broadcaster and the Sports Director at WGN Radio, his voice filled our airwaves. Dave Revsine of the Big Ten Network began his sports broadcasting career right here at WNUR Sports. Glenn Geffner, the Miami Marlins Play-By-Play Broadcaster, and Steve Weissman, an ESPN anchor, began their sports broadcasting lives here at WNUR Sports. Before Darren Rovell became The Action Network's Sports Business Reporter, he wrote columns for our website and called games right here as Sports Director. Even Kevin Blackistone spent some time time at WNUR when he was a Northwestern student.
