The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine is a leading biomedical teaching and research center, enrolling more than 700 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, master of public health, and biomedical and veterinary sciences graduate students. The college is a partnership between the land-grant universities of Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland. The college's mission to protect and enhance animal, human, and environmental health and welfare focuses on the education of a diverse population of professional and post-graduate students in preparation for careers in the broad areas of veterinary medicine, biomedical sciences, and public health; the creation, dissemination, and application of new medical knowledge via discovery, publication, education, and engagement; and the provision of excellent and compassionate clinical service to animal owners and producers in Virginia and Maryland.
