Van Son Holland Ink Corporation is a major global printing ink manufacturer known around the world for producing the highest quality high performance inks for every offset press. For over 135 years Van Son has focused on satisfying the demands of larger multi-color high speed commercial printers. These products have been distributed in 130 countries through a network of distribution partners strategically positioned to deliver the unique level of service and support expected and required by professional printers. In the United States, for 50 years, Van Son of America has distributed products only for small duplicator presses. Likewise, the business model utilizes a group of distribution partners (Graphic Arts Dealers) who supply all of the consumables used by this segment of printers. This continues today as Van Son maintains its leadership position in supplying inks for medium to small printers through its distribution partners. In 2004, Van Son will begin a new global marketing campaign to introduce its newest formulation - VS5. Today's large commercial printer looks for features like fast make-ready, high solids, low water pick-up, reduced plate wear, high trap percentages and perfecting capability. VS5 provides all that and more. High gloss, exceptional rub-resistance, aqueous - UV- film and foil coatability, and laser safe surface are a few more features that make VS5 the most modern ink available. VS5 is available in a perfectly balanced set of process colors, plus an intense black. All PANTONE base inks are also offered. In the future, the VS family of inks will be increased to include a UV curing version and "green" series for the environmentally conscious printer. In keeping with its historical business model, in America Van Son will distribute VS5 through a unique new group of partners consisting of local big press ink manufacturers. They are proven capable of providing the level of technical and product support required to keep those bigger presses running smoothly. In addition, they will be able to offer fast local delivery of all PANTONE and custom mixed colors. The Van Son Ink Council has been formed which is made up of these ink company partners to address the future needs and concerns of today's and tomorrow's quality conscious lithographer. The council meets twice yearly to examine all of the ink related opportunities that will ultimately improve the productivity and quality of print while making the job of the printer easier.
