US 1 is primarily an interstate truckload carrier of general commodities, which uses a network of independent agents and owner-operators to contract for and haul freight for its customers in 48 states with a concentration in the Southeastern United States. The agents are in regular contact with shippers at the local level and have facilities and personnel to monitor and coordinate shipments and respond to shippers' needs.
