What Is United Engines?

United Engines, through Detroit Diesel's acquisition of Allison, is also a charter distributor for what is now the Allison Division of General Motors Corporation. These two companies and their associated product lines form the core of our diversified business. Detroit Diesel engines and Allison transmissions are used in a myriad of industrial, construction, and automotive applications. This wide diversity of application, combined with United's commitment to quality, and total customer satisfaction has enabled it to remain strong even through severe down cycles in selected industries which it serves. Consistent throughout United's history has been its philosophy of growth through continuous maintenance of its existing customer base, conservative management, and acquisition of additional market areas whenever possible. Towards that end United has purchased four Detroit Diesel-Allison distributorships since 1967. Detroit Diesel and Allison's commitment to, and dependence upon the distributor group to provide unsurpassed service and product quality to our mutual customers, coupled with technology leadership in our industry, position United Engines well to excel into the twenty first century.
