UNCW Center for Marine Science Revenue and Competitors

The mission of CMS is to support and promote coastal and marine science at UNCW through research, teaching, outreach and service. CMS covers a broad range of coastal and marine issues with an emphasis on the physical, chemical and life sciences, as well as aquaculture and applied research.\n\nAs UNCW is the state’s coastal university, we serve as stewards of coastal sustainability, aquaculture and living resources that make the Cape Fear region like no other. CMS represents over 100 researchers from across the University and serves an important role in connecting the needs of communities in the region, as well as national and global needs, with research, teaching and service. CMS has many moving parts from the shellfish hatchery, to working offshore on the R/V Cape Fear, to assessing coastal hazards and opportunities. As you will see in this video one of the new coastal programs at UNCW epitomizes the special attention to our environment and coastal living that makes the university so special to us all.\n\nMarine and coastal science at UNCW spans more than 50 years and \nintegrates all of UNCW’s colleges and schools.
