It is the physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health care professionals – all dedicated to providing the most advanced, most effective care available. UK HealthCare is committed to the pillars of academic health care – research, education and clinical care – and dedicated to the health of the people of Kentucky. We strengthen local health care and improve the delivery system by partnering with community hospitals and physicians. UK HealthCare physicians and other medical professionals are trained in the most sophisticated, up-to-the-minute medical techniques so that no Kentuckian, no matter how sick or how rare the illness, needs to go far from home for treatment. The UK Level I Trauma Center has the highest certification for both adult and pediatric traumatic injuries. The Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit sees the tiniest and sickest newborns, giving them a chance not only to live, but also to live normal, productive, happy lives. UK HealthCare nurses provide a level of care for every patient that has achieved Magnet status, the highest recognition available in the nursing field. Educators in our six health-profession colleges teach the next generations of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care for the future. UK HealthCare supports the University of Kentucky's education and research needs by offering cutting-edge services on par with the nation's best providers.
