What Is Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI)?

Company Overview Established in August 2008, Tufts CTSI is funded by Grant Number UL1TR001064 from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), National Institutes of Health (NIH). NCATS established a national consortium of such institutes/centers with the goal of transforming how clinical and translational research is conducted throughout the country. Company Tagline Translating research into better health General Information Tufts CTSI is a collaboration of organizations, founded by Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University. We accelerate translation of laboratory research into clinical use, medical practice and health policy. We connect people to research resources, consultation, and education, fostering collaboration with scholars of all disciplines and with community members, with the ultimate goal of improving the health of the public. Tufts CTSI has a range of affiliated partners including all the schools of Tufts University, Tufts-affiliated hospitals across Massachusetts and in Maine, several other universities and academic partners, community organizations, health plans, and the biomedical and pharmaceutical industry. We are the nucleus for actively connecting, supporting, and educating Tufts-affiliated researchers conducting clinical and translational science. We are forged from a rich history of multidisciplinary, innovative research, a longstanding dedication to community engagement, acclaimed training and education programs, including the Clinical and Translational Science Graduate Program within the Tufts University Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences, and revolutionary research in the fields of comparative effectiveness, health services research, and predictive medicine.
