What Is Trinity High School?

Trinity High School, founded in 1918 by the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa Wisconsin, is a Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women. Trinity has earned an excellent reputation as a premier high school with a strong commitment to educating young women and preparing them for the future: intellectually, spiritually, socially, and morally. For over 92 years Trinity has been a cornerstone of the Oak Park-River Forest community. Trinity's student body gives an average of over 16,000 hours of community service to the community. 2010 Graduation Stats 100% of our graduates were accepted into a college or university 82% received academic scholarships totalling over $10.1 million dollars. This extraordinary success rate is due to a rich curriculum incorporating the latest teaching techniques with the added advantage of a single-gender atmosphere and Block Schedule. Accreditation Trinity is one of twenty-five schools in Illinois accredited as a college preparatory high school by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and by the State of Illinois. Additionally, Trinity is officially affiliated with the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, the premier global honors program. One hundred and twenty-nine countries are home to 2,401 IB schools at this time. Trinity boasts a 90% passing rate compared to the 80% global success rate. On average, 50% of the student body take IB courses. Dominican Collaboration Seniors with a grade point average of 3.7 or above can take a course at Dominican University at no cost. The credit may be used for early admission to Dominican University or transferred to another college or university. Other areas of collaboration in service, research, fine arts and mentoring are in the planning stage. Single-Gender/Block-Schedule Trinity is proud to offer young women the option of a single-gender education. This environment gives young women the competitive edge they need to succeed in college as well as in the work force. Trinity's young women perceive themselves as worthy, esteemed and confident persons. Young women in a single-gender school take math and science courses at double the national average. Trinity students have the potential to graduate with 5.5 credits in math and 6.25 credits in science. Trinity is a trailblazing Catholic school as the first to adopt the highly successful block scheduling program. Due to the structure of the Block Schedule, Trinity students graduate with 32 credits.
