What Is The Wellness Plan?

The Wellness Plan Medical Centers (TWP) is comprised of six medical centers located in metro Detroit. We are committed to delivering quality primary care and health services to uninsured and underinsured residents, regardless of ability to pay. We are recognized by The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a PCMH. The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol of quality. A PCMH is a model of health care that makes patients the number one priority. PCMHs strive to build stronger relationships between medical professionals and their patients. With this idea in mind, it will result in overall better patient experience and staff satisfaction. With these factors in mind, PCMHs also work to reduce health care costs. TWP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and is a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deemed facility, which means it receives funding and other liability coverage benefits from the federal government. FQHCs are important resources in many low-income communities, especially in rural and urban areas. An FQHC is an outpatient clinic that qualifies for reimbursement systems under Medicare and Medicaid. FQHC’s must meet a stringent set of requirements, including providing discounted care on a sliding fee scale based on family size and household income and operating under a governing board that includes patients, according to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
