We are The Nottingham, an award-winning building society and estate agency operating online and via our network of 67 branches across 11 counties. The eighth largest building society in the UK by assets, with the fifth biggest branch presence, we offer a broad range of building society services such as mortgages and savings as well as independent financial planning, whole-of-market mortgage advice and local estate agency services. Founded in 1849, we are a mutual building society owned by our members with a long and proud history of offering financial support and advice to local communities. The mutual model means there are no shareholders and our profits and extra benefits can be passed on to customers through things like lower mortgages and higher savings rates. As a mutual organisation, we've always believed in helping our community. Following in the footsteps of our founder Samuel Fox, we set up Doing Good Together in 2011 to make a difference and support prosperity in our local communities. Since launch we have donated over £800,000 for charities that support employability, financial education and literacy, and homelessness in our heartland. The Nottingham is proud to be signatory to the Woman in Finance Charter a government initiative designed to improve gender diversity in senior positions within the financial services sector. The Society has a strong record on diversity and inclusion achieved over many years and continues to focus and invest efforts in this area. We were therefore delighted to see that The Nottingham featured in the Gadhia review as one of the leading organisations in the rankings of female leadership representation across the financial services industry and the only Building Society in the top 20 financial services organisations.
