Known as the intimate “4-star theatre†in Copley Square, The Lyric Stage Company is Boston’s oldest theatre company, dedicated to presenting a wide range of the highest quality plays and musicals, including comedies, musicals, literary adaptations, new plays, and classics to delight a variety of theatregoers. Founded in 1974, and deeply committed to nurturing the talents of Boston-area theatre artists, The Lyric Stage Company presents seven productions each season to an annual audience of over 40,000, including over 2,000 Season Ticket Holders. In our 39 years, The Lyric Stage Company has earned 28 Elliot Norton and 43 Independent Reviewers of New England Awards. During his tenure, Producing Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos has received the StageSource Theatre Hero Award and the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence.
