The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland Revenue and Competitors

The Living Legacy Foundation is the non-profit organ and tissue donation program serving the state of Maryland, with the exception of three counties (Charles, Montgomery, and Prince Georges). We facilitate the life-saving process of organ and tissue donation, celebrate the generous gifts of organ and tissue donors, support our donor families and educate others about the importance of registering as a donor. We invite you to learn how organ and tissue transplants help thousands of people each year. The Living Legacy Foundation is the not-for-profit health service organization that facilitates the donation and recovery of human organs and tissues for transplantation and research. We provide advocacy, family support, and comprehensive public and professional education, and are committed to organizational excellence to enhance the organ and tissue donation and distribution processes. Our organization was incorporated in 1990, consolidating the former Maryland Organ Procurement Center and the Maryland Tissue Bank. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services accredits us as an organ procurement organization, and the State of Maryland licenses us as a Tissue Bank. Our tissue bank is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks. We are governed by a 25 member Board of Directors, which includes general public members, transplant recipient representatives and donor family members. Our Board also includes transplant physicians, surgeons and administrators from the two Baltimore organ transplant centers (the University of Maryland Medical Center and The Johns Hopkins Hospital).
