What Is The Kinkaid School?
The oldest independent coeducational school in Houston, Kinkaid was founded in 1906 by Margaret Hunter Kinkaid. The school has had three locations-the first of which was Mrs. Kinkaid's own home, where classes were conducted in the dining room; the second location was at the corner of Richmond and Graustark; and, in the fall of 1957, the school moved to its present forty acre campus in Piney Point Village. In the history of the school, Kinkaid has had four headmasters.
