What Is The Bridge for Youth?

The Bridge for Youth provides runaway and homeless youth with safe shelter, assists in the prevention and resolution of family conflicts, and family reunification when safe and possible. The Bridge strives to be a premiere resource for diverse populations of youth and families needing help by offering: support that empower; safe shelter; sustainable tools for success and restoration of relationships; and when safe and possible, family reunification. Current programs include: • Youth Response Center: Provides immediate support and resources for youth and families. We also host YSNMN.org, a mobile app connecting youth with shelter and resources in real time. • Resilience House: The Emergency Shelter provides temporary shelter, case management, access to healthcare, and support for youth ages 10-17. • Gloria’s Place (opened August 2020): The only emergency shelter in Minnesota for pregnant or parenting homeless youth (ages 15-17) and their children (ages 0-3). Provides temporary shelter, case management, access to healthcare, and parenting education. • Marlene’s Place: The first and only site-based transitional housing and case management program in Hennepin County for pregnant or parenting homeless youth (ages 16-20) and their children (ages 0-3). • Rita’s House: An intentional living community providing affordable housing and teaching independent living skills to twelve youth ages 18-21. - Outreach & Support Services: Connects with youth in need on the streets and in the community through outreach, school partnerships, community education; counseling, aftercare, support groups; and specialized case management for crime victims and LGBTQ+ youth.
