What Is The Big Hoopla NCAA First Four Local Organizing Committee?

The Big Hoopla operates the all-volunteer NCAA® First Four® Local Organizing Committee in the Dayton region & Ohio, supporting the University of Dayton's role as a preferred host site for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. While supporting the University position, the committee collaboratively works to drive significant, long-term economic value for the Dayton region by leveraging the media reach of the NCAA Tournament and March Madness® to promote and advocate for the unique attributes of the region – pride and respect for the military (United States Air Force and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base), a strong sense of service, innovation, collaboration and Midwestern hospitality. The Big Hoopla NCAA First Four Local Organizing Committee, appointed by the University of Dayton, is led by a volunteer Committee Chairman and is comprised of 50+ executives and community leaders from across the Dayton region representing academia, small and large business, military, civic and government jurisdictions. The LOC has captured the time, attention and resources from prominent and active national advisors. Since its inception, the Dayton region has embraced the First Four with the same passion as its fans. The LOC’s highly efficient, self-contained and self-sustaining model works to produce positive outcomes for the NCAA, the University, the Dayton region, players, coaches, media and fans of all ages. In addition to the tremendous support from regional executives who contribute their time serving on the committee, the First Four Local Organizing Committee has generated unprecedented levels of support and participation from over 450 community partners since 2012.
