What Is The Bear Creek School?

The Bear Creek School was founded in 1988, by Dr. Nancy L. Price, opening the first year as a home school extension while seeking a facility. Dr Price wanted a true combination of high academics and a Christian educational environment and not finding one, created The Bear Creek School to meet these objectives. Bear Creek Community Church in Woodinville opened its doors to us, so day school operation began the fall of 1989, with twenty-one students in kindergarten through fourth grades. As the church's facilities grew, so did our enrollment. By 1994 The Bear Creek School had outgrown BCCC's classroom space, and placed on their property two modular units comprising seven additional classrooms and one office. We also bought fifteen acres of property on Union Hill. Fall of 1995 saw us moving onto two campuses, with grades K - 5 located at the original Bear Creek Community Church facility and modulars in Woodinville, and grades 6 and up in Redmond at Grace Community Church. The year 2000 saw the completion of our $12M building project to house grades K-12 in a 90,000 sq. ft. facility on 15 acres. Our new campus is designed to optimize our education and prepare our students to take their places as leaders in tomorrow's world. We held our first classes in the new facility in the 2000-2001 school year and graduated our first class in June 2001. Winter 2005 brought a move of our Woodinville Campus (grades K - 6), generously hosted by Bear Creek Community Church, to our own Valley Campus, located just over a mile from our Redmond campus. In fall 2009, Bear Creek launched our Early Childhood program with the addition of a prekindergarten class at Redmond Campus In fall 2010, Bear Creek opened a new Woodinville Campus at the Woodinville Alliance Church to support our expanding Early Childhood program of preschool and prekindergarten classes and Valley Campus is now home to several sections of preschool and prekindergarten classes as well. All three sections of grade 6 students are now housed at Redmond Campus, easing the transition of the older elementary students into Middle School. Each year we have rejoiced in changed lives resulting from a strong commitment by faculty, students, and parents to excellence, both in academics and virtue. We are excited about the opportunity God has presented us to trust Him and His people for great things. The mission and vision that began The Bear Creek School continues to be central to all that we do. Building upon a strong foundation of academic excellence and spiritual development we look forward to the future.
