What Is Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services?

Our Vision is: A Texas where people with disabilities and families with children who have developmental delays enjoy the same opportunities as other Texans to pursue independent and productive lives. Our Mission is: To work in partnership with Texans with disabilities and families with children who have developmental delays to improve the quality of their lives and to enable their full participation in society. As you can see, the vision statement is very broad and envisions a Texas characterized by specific values which provides particular opportunities. We come to work every day because we share this vision of what is possible and have this same sense of the importance of our work. We share the same insight to our purpose and "see" the same outcomes. To accomplish this, we have a specific mission. The Mission Statement tells us exactly what we need to do. The work we do every day should, therefore, contribute to this Mission. We should always check our activities against this statement. Ask yourself, how does what we do assist our consumers to participate fully in the obligations and benefits of society?
