What Is Territory Generation?

Territory Generation (TGen) is the largest producer of electricity in the Northern Territory, established in 2014 as a government owned corporation. The corporation owns and operates power stations at Channel Island, Weddell, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Yulara, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs (Ron Goodin) and Owen Springs. There are 55 generating units with a combined installed capacity of around 580MW. At 30 June 2016, Territory Generation’s full-time equivalent workforce was 201. In the 12 months to 30 June 2016, Territory Generation’s combined output from gas, diesel and solar facilities was 1973 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity compared with 1893 GWh in 2014-15. Financial year revenue from the sale of electricity was $306.6M.
