Swikly is the new simple alternative to online booking services, security deposits and down payment transfers. Swikly is your trusted third party which can seal a booking commitment by a credit card imprint while keeping your usual method for the final payment (cash, checks, credit card …). You can now ask for your down payments or security deposits without the check or bank transfer constraints. Swikly simplifies, guarantees and secures transactions for both sellers or renters and their customers. All activity providers for sports, tourism, leisure and short term rental accommodations can now secure their booking in a quick and easy way. How did Swikly get started? Xavier Rouhaud and Shaun Wourm came up with the idea while they were on vacation in “les gorges du Verdon” in the south of France. They booked a canyoning guide for 10 friends but when it was time to leave for the event, 4 of the friends did not feel like going. The guide was of course very disappointed because he had booked wet suits for 10, he had pre-paid a colleague to assist… to cut a long story short these 4 late cancellations were a net loss of income for his business. Discussing it with him, they found out that there is no easy way to make such appointments secure: asking for a deposit check or a bank transfer is not convenient, asking for a credit card number is neither easy nor secure, asking for a down payment with an existing online payment transfer can be expensive and does not meet the need of simply securing a booking without payment. So they set to work … the rest is Swikly.
