Sundog Theatre is a Not-For-Profit, Staten Island based arts company formed in 2002. Sundog Theatre, founded in 2002, is a Staten Island-based performing arts organization with an excellent reputation for offering theatre, delivering nearly 70 arts-in-education programs in over 30 schools, touring productions that are relevant for today’s young people, and providing acting classes for children. When the sun shines through ice crystals in the sky, a sundog appears. Sundogs appear in pairs, bookending the sun like companions -- or dogs -- and reflecting its impression. Just as sundogs reflect the sun, it is an artist's job to hold a mirror to humanity. Through humor and drama, Sundog has presented its theatrical works, many of them Island-centric, for the past 15 years to show humankind through an exploratory light.
