In fact, Suminter is only the third company in India to be Fair Trade certified for cotton and is one of the only companies in India to be exporting Fair Trade goods to the international market. Despite its rapid development (Suminter now works with over 50,,000 farmers and represents over 2,00,000 acres of farmland that has been or is in the process of being converted to organic), the company has continued to bring about social, economic and environmental benefits for its workers and consumers.
