Sturdy Memorial Hospital is a locally controlled, non-profit acute care community hospital that is dedicated to providing a broad range of health care services to the residents of its communities. The Hospital's mission is to provide high quality care to the sick and injured, on both an inpatient and outpatient basis, without regard to race, creed, national origin, age, gender, disability, or ability to pay. As a community resource, the Hospital has a primary commitment to serve the residents of Attleboro, Foxboro, Mansfield, North Attleboro, Norfolk, Norton, Plainville, Seekonk, Sharon, Rehoboth, Walpole, Wrentham, and nearby Rhode Island. However, anyone who requires care will receive it, regardless of place of residence. The Hospital is committed to ensuring its trustees, officers, executives, professional staff members and employees comply with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and regulations, avoid conflicts of interest, and conduct hospital business with the highest degree of integrity and honesty and always respect patient privacy and confidentiality. Sturdy Memorial will seek to provide the broadest range of diagnostic, inpatient, outpatient and emergency services appropriate for a community hospital. These will include all services except those so specialized as to be best offered in tertiary medical centers, such as open-heart surgery and organ transplants. Sturdy Memorial will support and encourage its medical staff to ensure that sufficient, high quality primary and specialty physician services are available and accessible to residents of our service area. Sturdy Memorial will provide needed physician services if the medical staff is unable to meet the area's needs. The Hospital will employ competent, service-oriented clinicians, support staff, and managers, who are dedicated to delivering high quality care efficiently and with compassion. The Hospital will ensure that only competent, qualified physicians receive medical staff privileges. All staff are committed to quality by designing systems to prevent errors from reaching patients.
