What Is Stroke Foundation?

The Stroke Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation working across the stroke journey, supporting stroke survivors, carers, health professionals, governments and the public to reduce the impact of stroke on the Australian community. We are the voice of stroke in Australia. Our mission is to stop stroke, save lives and end suffering. We will achieve this by: - Raising awareness of the risk factors and signs of stroke and promoting healthy lifestyles. - Improving treatment for stroke to save lives and reduce disability. - Improving life after stroke for stroke survivors. - Encouraging and facilitating stroke research. - Advocating for improved stroke prevention, treatment and support. - Raising funds from the community, corporate sector and government to continue our mission. Our Vision: A world free from disability and suffering caused by stroke. Our Mission: Stop stroke, save lives, end suffering. As the first step towards preventing a stroke, we raise awareness of causes and how to reduce the risk. To save lives, aid recovery and reduce disability, we develop best-practice treatment guidelines, support hospitals and health professionals and promote research. We advocate for and implement personal, community and government support services for stroke survivors and their families to reduce the distress caused by stroke. Our Values: courage, excellence, compassion, integrity, leadership fundraising, awareness building, community engagement, health education, health promotion, support, advocacy, focused program delivery
