St Joseph's Nudgee College (est. 1891) is a day and boarding school for boys in Years 5 to 12, with a student population of over 1545, and growing. As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition, the culture and values of the College are shaped by the Touchstones of inclusive community, gospel spirituality, liberating education and justice and solidarity. The College is a member of the GPS Association and focuses upon providing a balanced holistic education. The academic culture of the College is influenced by Art Costa?s ?Habits of Mind??, ensuring the empowerment, engagement and encouragement of students, staff, and parents. The College also has extensive sporting, cultural, and social justice extra-curricular programs, which staff are encouraged to partake in. The College?s campus is a combination of historical and modern buildings which provides the ideal facilities for our outstanding staff to offer a wide range of curricular opportunities for our boys. Our facilities include, apart from generic learning spaces, IT labs, Marine Science labs, Music studios ( a large ensemble room with a stage, an integrated 32 keyboard music laboratory, several instrumental studios, a jamhub room for recording and music production, rehearsal spaces) Art building (specific classrooms with breakout spaces, internal and external courtyards for sculpture and clay work, specialised Mac laboratories, framing and mounting spaces, screen and printing darkroom facilities) and a large covered outdoor space, used for both lunch and outdoor learning. The campus also includes 14 rugby/football fields, 9 turf wicket cricket fields, 20 cricket nets, 8 tennis courts, 4 basketball courts, 2 indoor multi-purpose courts, an Olympic-standard synthetic running track, 2 pools, and a modern well equipped gym. The College also has an off site purpose built rowing shed.
