St. Stephen Revenue and Competitors

At St. Stephen's, our desire is to be a healthy church. A church is like a human body. If your body is healthy, it will grow well and be able to serve God's purposes in this world. But if your body becomes ill or infirm, you will be hindered. We have learned over the years that healthychurches are well-balanced in a certain set of priorities. Here are ours: Grace - We put God's grace first because everything flows from this. We focus not on what we do, but on what He has done through His Son, Jesus, and what He continues to do in the world today. He freely loves us, draws us, forgives us, gifts us with new life and welcomes us into His family. This new life is more powerful than death itself and it all comes freely to broken and needy people through His Son, Jesus. This is grace and we speak of it a great deal. Grace brings a response. It reorders our desires and passions It creates and calls forth a new life with new purposes. These, too, are our priorities and include: Fellowship - Christ draws us into his family where we befriend each other, love each other, and live out our faith together. Discipleship - Healthy believers grow in Christ-likeness, and this happens through the timeless principles of trust and obedience, of faith and following. Ministry - People who have been deeply loveddesire to love others. When God Himself has served us, we are eager to serve others. Mission - God's love always reaches out through his people to those beyond ourselves - into our neighborhoods, our city, and our world. We want to proclaim in word and deed the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who do not yet believe. Worship - We are a "multi-style" worshipping community with five different worship services each weekend. However, we know that Christian worship is not simply a focus of our weekends, but is a way of life in which we offer all we are and all we do for God's glory. These six focal points are seen in almost every ministry of our parish.
