What Is Sovereign Health Care?

Sovereign Health Care was established in 1873 and is one of the UK’s longest established providers of health care cash plans to individuals and businesses. Originally established as a Bradford-based hospital fund, Sovereign still stands by our original principle – to support people when they need to access health care. We do this by providing cash plans to individuals and businesses which help people afford their everyday health care. \n\nWe work with hundreds of businesses, from SMEs to some of the largest employers in the region. From just a few pounds per employee per month, our cash plans are a quick, easy and cost-effective way for organisations to support the health and wellbeing of employees. Cash plans are designed to pay out for everyday health costs such as dental treatment, eye tests, glasses/contact lenses, physiotherapy, chiropody and even preventive measures such as health screening. What’s more, they often include 24/7 access to confidential GP and counselling services, as well as practical legal, financial and consumer information. \n\nOffering a health care cash plan within your benefits package can help businesses attract and retain talent, with people increasingly looking for employers who actively demonstrate they care. The comprehensive emotional and financial support our cash plans provide enable employees to proactively manage their own health, which is mutually beneficial for employees and employers alike. \n \nAs well as supporting our customers, we have a longstanding history of helping charities, community groups and organisations working to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in West Yorkshire. As a not-for-profit company, we are able to donate an amount equivalent to between 5 and 10 per cent of our annual turnover through our Community Programme. In the last 13 years we have donated over £9 million to health and wellbeing good causes including over £2 million to Yorkshire NHS Trusts.
