What Is Southern California Law Review?

The Southern California Law Review, USC Gould's flagship journal, was established in 1927. Members are chosen on the basis of their first-year grades and the results of the annual write-on competition, and the staff of the Law Review assists in the preparation of scholarly articles and student-written notes for publication. The Law Review has three goals: to advance legal scholarship through the publication of outstanding articles, to foster a sense of intellectual community and professional camaraderie among members of the Law Review and the faculty of the law school, and to train Law Review members in legal analysis and writing. The Law Review publishes one volume annually, produced as six separate issues between November and September. Each issue contains articles written by outside contributors and notes written by Law Review staff members. In addition, the Law Review has a tradition of co-hosting symposia with the law school administration in order to explore timely or controversial areas of law.
