Introduction to SSMH South Shore Mental Health Center, Inc. (SSMH) began offering services in 1926 as a small children's guidance center serving the town of Quincy, Massachusetts. Today, our staff of over 700 clinicians and professionals provides services to over 17,000 clients a year. South Shore Mental Health has become an area leader in providing a full-spectrum of behavioral health services to children and families residing from Boston to Cape Cod. SSMH maintains five outpatient clinics, residential programs, and provides services in homes, schools, childcare centers, and other community settings.
