What Is Soul Candi?
Soul Candi started out as a record shop in vinyl DJing's heyday, and it was where like-minded DJs from across the country would converge to hear and buy the latest, tastiest house tracks. The store became a focal point for house proponents of the caliber of DJ Fresh, Oskido, Euphonik and many more. But despite the presence of these big personalities, everyone was welcome, and the beats were a treat. As house music became THE sound of South Africa, the business grew and Soul Candi started making the most popular tunes available to everybody via their range of cool compilation CDs. Now the nation could own what the best DJs were playing on the airwaves and in the clubs. Now Soul Candi has a new mission statement: it's been re-coded as an all-encompassing media house – which ironically takes the company back to its roots: sharing the best house music the world has to offer.
