Smart Start saves lives by separating drinking from driving. We accomplish this through the installation, service, monitoring, and manufacturing of the SSI-1000 ignition interlock device. Our mission is to be the premier provider of services and technology that separate drinking from driving. Smart Start was incorporated in December 1992 with a commitment to service. Although the ignition interlock is the hardware of our business we believe the service component is far more important. We serve two distinct, yet equally important customers. One is the customer who pays for the device. The other is the Judicial System / DMV Authority that mandates use of the ignition interlock device and monitors the user with the reports Smart Start provides. Smart Start is the only fully integrated provider in the ignition interlock industry. This allows us to provide customized programs as required by each county or state. We are certified to operate in Texas, Louisiana, Washington, Kentucky, Arkansas, Kansas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
