The Smart Data culture is driven by the company's Scrum-based structure. We hire smart people who share our values of honesty, integrity, transparency and respect. Everyone is humble enough to realize that others in the company know more than they do on some topics. That humility keeps egos in-check allowing the atmosphere to be one of mutual respect and easy collaboration. Our employees are encouraged and expected to use their knowledge, skills and experience to help solve the problems confronting our customers and ourselves. Ideas are to be voiced, concerns are to be raised. Lessons-learned and best practices are to be shared across the organization. Our employees are nice people who thrive on learning. We help junior developers grow their skills and confidence, we encourage senior devs as they practice the delivery of presentations before sharing their knowledge at a conference and we thank other employees for their contributions that make Smart Data a great place to work. Fun is also an important part of the Smart Data culture. We like each other and enjoy spending many hours each week together so it is natural that friendships grow, good-natured joking and teasing happens and ping-pong challenges are extended. Scattered throughout the year, we enjoy lunchtime potlucks and cook-outs, game nights, happy hour gatherings, team-building outings, family activities, and our especially fun Smart Data Christmas celebration and gift exchange.
