Simpsons Malt Limited was established by J.P. Simpson in Alnwick, Northumberland, back in 1862. It has remained a family-owned and run business throughout its history and has stayed truly independent in what is an ever-changing market place. \n\nOur customers predominantly use our malted products in the production of beer, whisky and food products and are based both in the UK and abroad. We have supplied malt to companies in more than 35 countries over the last 20 years. \n\nWe prefer to source our raw materials from the UK, of which malting barley is the most common. We established our own merchanting company, McCreath Simpson in 1980, which became McCreath, Simpson & Prentice (MSP) in 1982. As a result, through MSP we are able to procure the majority of our raw material requirements each year.
