What Is Service Birmingham?

Service Birmingham is Birmingham City Council’s joint venture with CAPITA Business Services. By providing world-class information and communications technology (ICT) systems, Service Birmingham is transforming the way the Council operates, by improving services, cutting costs and increasing job satisfaction. \r\n\r\n‘Link2ICT’ is the division of Service Birmingham which provides ICT solutions for schools, Youth Centres, Libraries, Museums and Arts. \r\n\r\nSince the joint venture began in April 2006, Service Birmingham has implemented major enhancements to the Council’s ICT infrastructure, including a £2m investment in a new server estate.\r\n\r\nAs the Council’s Strategic Partner, Service Birmingham is contributing to the delivery of Business Transformation by working alongside the Council to identify opportunities for service improvements. Birmingham City Council’s transformation programme is one of the largest and most ambitious of its kind. Approximately £1bn worth of savings are expected to be delivered over the decade to 2016.
