What Is SecureFutures (Teen Financial Literacy Education Tools and Mentoring)?

Every teen deserves to feel empowered and capable when it comes to money. Yet the majority of high school students in America graduate and enter adulthood without personal finance guidance or skills. SecureFutures (formerly Make A Difference - Wisconsin) connects teens with proven financial education courses led by volunteers from the business community and facilitated by dynamic educators. Teens complete our program empowered, confident and ready for their financial futures. What starts as lessons on credit, budgeting and savings turns into powerful interactions in our community and lifelong financial behaviors for students. Our hands-on budgeting, credit and personal finance programs provide a free resource for Wisconsin and Chicago schools and educators looking to enhance financial education for teens. More than 80,000 teens have found skills and lessons to take control of their financial futures since we were founded in 2006. Our proven programs include student mentoring, comprehensive overviews of financial basics and emerging personal finance software. In August 2017, we changed our name from Make A Difference - Wisconsin to SecureFutures to better reflect our growth and the impact teens told us financial capability has on their lives. In a mix of adult enrichment and fundraising, SecureFutures also arranges the annual Investment Conference, the largest gathering of financial talent in the state with past keynotes such as Ricky Sandler, Byron Trott, David Einhorn and Bill Ackman. If you share our mission of teen financial empowerment, then we want to partner with you. Find out how you can join our financial education movement at securefutures.org.
