WHO WE ARE The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most diverse business association in the region. Founded in 1882 by local business leaders, the Chamber today is an independent organization representing 2,200 companies and a regional workforce of approximately 700,000. OUR VISION We seek an economically vibrant and globally competitive Seattle region where businesses can flourish and everyone has the opportunity to succeed and to access a thriving quality of life. OUR MISSION The Chamber engages the innovation and entrepreneurship of its members to advance economic prosperity, advocate for a vital business environment, and build sustainable and healthy communities in the Seattle region. WHAT WE DO At the Chamber, we believe that the business community thrives when the whole community is healthy. And we believe our region is uniquely positioned to compete in the global marketplace because we embrace three key attributes: we create jobs, we are responsible stewards of the environment, and we ensure access and opportunity for all. We play many roles as a result. The Chamber is: 1. a policy advocate and the only Chamber in the area that represents business at the city, regional, state and federal levels; 2. a convener and coalition-builder around issues we all care about, from transportation to education to the environment; 3. a one-stop shop for all of the tools businesses need to grow, from high-quality networking to employee benefits; 4. and a community partner and champion for projects, initiatives and people who make our region globally competitive as well as a great place to live, work and raise a family.
