We are a stable long term business with a great track record. We have been in business since 1955, growing out of Sealy Realty Company in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which remains our headquarters. Unlike fee managers, the owners and partners of SMC own almost all of our property and hold it for the long term. This means that your property will not be sold out from under you just as you get it doing well, as is so common in this business. We keep the property up and are known for paying our bills promptly, with an excellent financial and ethical reputation. We have a number of employees who have been with us 20-25-even 30 years or more. All of the owners have 30+ years in the business and are knowledgeable in property management and the apartment business, and are fully involved in the apartment business on a full time basis. You will learn and prosper in our organization if you will invest yourself. Lois Brown is our employee development trainer, whom many of you know from a decade of IREM courses that she has taught. Sealy team members are not alone, as we have a significant support organization from knowledgeable Regional and Area Managers, to accounting support, collections support, and landscaping and construction experts.
