What Is Scotch Oakburn College?

Scotch Oakburn College is an independent school in Launceston, Tasmania, offering exceptional educational opportunities for boys and girls from Early Learning (3 years) to Year 12 and boarding from Year 6 onwards. The College has approximately 1200 students, with boarding for around 80 students. A Uniting Church School, Scotch Oakburn has established a reputation for excellence in academic standards, sporting and cultural arenas and in education outdoors. Scotch Oakburn is the only Tasmanian school to be a member of the Round Square Association of international schools. Round Square is a group of over 100 schools around the globe, that share a commitment to the educational principles of Dr Kurt Hahn. The College has three campuses: the Elphin Campus, comprising Early Learning to Year 5 and the College Boarding House; the Penquite Campus, comprising our Middle School (Year 6 to 8) and our Senior School (Year 9 to 12), as well as our business office; and the Valley Campus in the Fingal Valley, home of our Education outdoors and Environment Centre.
