Seminole County Firefighters are involved with children. Bikes For Children - Seminole County Firefighters established a bike program some years ago for the area needy children. In the beginning, we took in old bikes, made repairs to them and passed them along to charities within the county. Since the early days we have progressed to purchasing new bikes for children ages 2 and up. Most of them have been purchased by the firefighters themselves from area stores such as Target and Toy's- R-Us. We then put the bikes together and assure they are in proper working order. Once completed, we send them to local charities to be passed out to the needy children in the county. This year we are looking for sponsors both from the citizens and business within the county to assist us in the purchasing of the bikes.
