What Is SaveLIFE Foundation?

SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF) is an independent, non-profit non-governmental organization focused on improving road safety and emergency medical care across India. SLF combines innovative on-ground interventions with advocacy for stronger national level policies to establish a sustainable framework for Road Safety and Emergency Medical Care. In the recent past, SaveLIFE Foundation has been responsible for securing the ban on trucks from carrying protruding rods, responsible for killing over 9000 people in 2012 alone. Presently, SLF is advocating for a comprehensive and all-inclusive national road safety law including protection, from legal hassles, for Good Samaritans who assist injured road accident victims. For more, please visit, www.savelifefoundation.org To achieve its objectives, SLF operates in two broad areas, 1. ACCIDENT PREVENTION 2. POST-ACCIDENT RESPONSE In both of the above areas, SLF's model includes National Policy Support, Legal Interventions and On-ground Programs. Recent Accomplishments Successfully convinced Government of India to introduce a comprehensive National Road Safety Law. Invited by the Government to support the development of the new law. Secured ban on trucks from carrying protruding rods, expected to save over 9000 lives annually Reduction in road accident deaths in Delhi, from 2325 deaths in year 2010 to 1530 deaths in 2013 through rapid first-aid by SLF-trained Police responders. Over 150,000 injured victims brought to hospital by SLF trained Police personnel and citizen volunteers Over 7,500 SLF trained first-responders on the ground across Delhi, UP, and Maharashtra SaveLIFE Foundation is in the process of drafting legislation for Maharashtra & Karnataka and Delhi for protection of Good Samaritans who help accident victims.
