What Is Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology?

With approximately 150 students, Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology is North America's largest Catholic seminary focused on preparing men of all ages for priesthood. Sacred Heart's expertise ensures a rich, rewarding and exemplary formation experience for men, while rigorously following the Program of Priestly Formation, 5th Edition. Approximately 30 bishops and religious superiors entrust their seminarians to Sacred Heart. Our core program is our accredited Master of Divinity Program, with approximately 100 seminarians. Seminarians who don't have a bachelor's degree enroll in our Pre-Theology Program, earning credits through a collaboration with nearby Cardinal Stritch University. Sacred Heart also offers an accredited Master of Arts Program open to laity. Our Cor Unum evening program is a cohort of 12 students that go through intellectual, spiritual, human and pastoral formation together. We also offer a robust ESL and Accent Modification program serving religious communities and dioceses around the world. Numerous lectures and mini-courses are offered, check our website for details. Sacred Heart is also home to the Lux Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies. It is the mission of the Lux Center to instill the knowledge, understanding and skills to advance interreligious dialogue and relations in future Catholic priests and religious leaders serving across the United States, Canada and throughout the world. Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology is an apostolate of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. It is located in Hales Corners, a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
