What Is SAVA - Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center?

What is SAVA? The SAVA (Sexual Assault Victim Advocate) Center is a private non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to the needs of sexual assault survivors in Larimer County. We are the local rape crisis center. We strive to reduce sexual violence in Larimer County through our various services. Vision: We envision a community where every person is aware of SAVA resources. The community has the capacity to provide services to all affected by sexual violence and shift community paradigms ultimately eliminiating sexual violence. Mission: SAVA's mission is to provide crisis intervention, advocacy and counseling for all those affected by sexual violence and provide prevention programs through community outreach and education. SAVA is comprised of specially trained victim advocates who are on-call 24 hours a day for emergency services or to answer your questions about sexual assault. SAVA works with, not for, the criminal justice system, the medical therapeutic community and other public & private agencies to provide seamless services to sexual assault survivors. SAVA Services include: •Information and support needed to make informed decisions and take positive action. •Personal advocacy and assistance with accessing medical information and counseling resources. •At the request of the client, we can arrange for and be present at meetings with criminal justice professionals, businesses, etc. •Outreach and services to family members and friends who are wondering how to help. •Individual and group therapy for men, women, families and friends affected by sexual violence. •Prevention/education seminars for classes, organizations, public agencies, church and civic groups, businesses & the community. •Assistance to obtain civil restraining orders, access to victim compensation and victim rights information.
