What Is Roy Metal Finishing Company?

Established in 1961, Roy Metal Finishing has grown steadily to a company employing over 65 people, working three shifts, five days a week. Roy Metal Finishing is the largest electroplater in the Southeast providing barrel and rack zinc and zinc alloy plating. In addition to zinc and zinc alloys, Roy Metal Finishing offers heavy zinc phosphating, nickel electroplating and passivation. With the majority of our business in the automotive industry, we understand the need for high standards on plating quality, detailed performance documentation and flexible logistics to meet the needs of domestic and international automotive suppliers. In addition to serving the automotive industry, Roy Metal Finishing also serves the industrial and consumer products industries as well. As of 2004, our sales were divided into the following industries: Automotive (65%), Consumer Goods (10%), Industrial Goods (25%). Current management consists of Cliff Roy, Metallurgical Engineer and President, John Pazdan, Industrial Engineer and Vice President, and Emilie Pazdan, Human Resources and Compliance Manager. Our Conestee plant is 65,000 square feet with eleven automatic hoists. We offer pickup and delivery within a 250 mile radius of the plant with our three 60,000 pound gross capacity trucks. Our facility is capable of handling all of our waste treatment and we have two complete laboratories on site. As of April 2, 2004, Roy Metal Finishing purchased a 30,000 square foot building in Mauldin, SC for the purpose of expanding the zinc and zinc alloy coatings free of hexavalent chromates. This facility will promote finishes that are environmentally friendly. We are marketing new trivalent passivates on all our zinc and zinc alloy processes. We are seeking the clear trivalents that will exceed automotive specifications. The hexavalent free black chromates is available on a limited basis. See the zinc cobalt section of the site for more on trivalent black passivates. At this time there is no Olive Drab color replacement with hex free chromate.
