What Is Rights and Resources Initiative?

The Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) is a global coalition of 15 Partners, 7 Affiliated Networks, and more than 150 collaborator organizations engaged in forest and land policy and market reform in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The Secretariat of the Rights and Resources Initiative, the Rights and Resources Group (RRG), is a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, that leads RRI's global-level analysis and advocacy, catalyzes new strategic collaboration and advisory groups, and coordinates the governance and activities of the Initiative. Our mission is to support Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and rural women in their fight against poverty and marginalization by promoting global commitment and action towards policy, legislative, and market reforms that secure their rights to own, control, and benefit from natural resources, especially lands and forests.
