What Is Ridgewells?

Founded as a family business in 1928, the Ridgewells of the 21st century retains the same intimacy and level of personal service. Our inception as caterers to the diplomatic corps imbued us from the start with a high regard for the very best in quality, freshness, service and setting. The social gathering is our stock-in-trade, and Ridgewells has always been a trendsetter. From soup-in-a-shot glass and dessert hors d'oeuvres to lunch-in-a-bowl, we will create a menu specially designed for you and your guests. Whether an intimate cocktail party or a wedding reception for 1,500, we combine fresh culinary approaches with creative theme and décor ideas to create truly memorable events. Capitol Hill's lawmakers and power brokers have often been among our most appreciative guests. However, when planning their own gatherings, politicians, civil servants, and others are often required to use providers whose employees are union members. To meet that special need, Ridgewells founded sister company Haute on the Hill in 2002. Proud to provide the services of a union-managed organization, Haute on the Hill specializes in the same unique food and comprehensive approach to event planning that has earned Ridgewells so many enthusiastic repeat clients. In the 1980s, Ridgewells branched out a bit, offering its services as caterer to such sporting events as the Preakness Stakes and the PGA Championship. We discovered that, whether the setting is an elegant dining room or a club tent on the turf, our clients' appreciation for delicious cuisine and attentive service remains unchanged! Ridgewells has since become the exclusive caterer for the United States Golf Association, the Washington Redskins, and many others. We've also leveraged our nutritional and menu planning expertise to provide lunch service to local private schools and corporations through our Quick 'n' Haute division. No matter the size and requirements of these organizations-whether pizza and hamburgers for teenagers or a corporate lunch for a CEO-they receive the same focused attention and personalized service that is the Ridgewells trademark. The secret recipe for our success is this: Take three main ingredients: people, quality and service.
