Ranbanka literally meaning the master of battles was an honour conferred upon the courageous Rajput clan of Jodhpur, the Rathores. The Princely state of Jodhpur was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha, a Rajput chief of the Rathore clan. Ranbanka Palace was built in 1927 for Maharajadhiraj Sir Ajit Singh ji, the youngest son of Maharaja Sir Sardar Singh ji and one of the most renowned princes of the region. A part of the erstwhile palace was commissioned to be converted into a heritage hotel, aptly named Ranbanka Palace; offering guests the opportunity to enjoy one of Rajasthan's foremost royal experiences.
