What Is Press Ganey Holdings?
Press Ganey Associates, Inc. was founded in 1985 by Irwin Press, Ph.D. and Rodney F. Ganey, Ph.D. to provide information essential to the assessment and enhancement of the health care experience. Dr. Press is an anthropologist and leading expert in patient satisfaction. Dr. Ganey is an accomplished research methodologist. The idea for the firm came as a result of Irwin Press' original consultative work with health care professionals regarding patient relations, risk management, and quality improvement. During these sessions, he was repeatedly asked to advise hospital managers about patient satisfaction surveys. He and Rod Ganey responded to their needs by developing an accurate, cost-effective, and user-friendly mechanism for continuously monitoring the quality of care. In December 2000, Press Ganey acquired the health care satisfaction survey business of Parkside Associates from Advocate Health Care. By making the commitment early on to create national databases of comparative satisfaction information, the firm has enabled its clients to benchmark their results with peer organizations. These databases - the largest of their kind in the world - are powerful tools that no standalone survey can offer.
